240 whine from front end while driving 200

Hello, there's a quiet high pitched whine coming from the front end of my 1993 240 automatic with 208k miles. The whine occurs when the car is in motion, changes pitch with speed, occurs when under power and coasting, and was noticed between 50 and 80 mph. The whine is intermittent, fading in for a few minutes, then fading away. It was sitting for 6 months while I repaired a coolant leak, but runs perfectly now that it's on the road. The car is in otherwise great condition.

Is it wheel bearings, a belt, the nice new tires? I'll keep searching the forum for answers, but "whine" returns lots of results to weed through. Thanks for any help narrowing down the problem.
