ANSWER engine diffrences 200 1990

Oh yes they are different. You need a 10 mm socket and a couple of 13mm wrenches to change the belts out on a 1990. For a decent manual get a Bentley, for a fair manual get a Hayes, for emergency bathroom paper get a Chilton.

The bug a boo is the there is a hidden 13mm nut on the back side of the compressor that makes it seem like the compressor will never move. Feel for an oval headed nut on the top back of the compressor and you found it. You just need to loosen the 13mm nuts, do not remove them. Then loosen the 10mm long bolts that tension the belts.

My first time took a couple of hours and a few dirty words. That was before I found out about that hidden nut on the compressor thanks to the BB.

Good luck, and oh, you need a set of matched belts for the water pump and alternator. At least get two belts from the same date code.

Paul
