Off and On Odometer Trouble - Any help from Art or Others? 200 1992

Hi folks,

The 1992 240 wagon that my teenage daughter is now driving is having off and on odometer trouble. Since that little plastic clip that holds the odometer cable to the back of the instrument cluster is long gone, I thought the connection was coming loose. After taping it in place the odometer is still working off and on.

I saw a picture from Art that showed a close up of some odometer connector pins and one with a bad solder point. Can someone give me an explanation of where these connections are and how to get to them once I have the instrument cluster removed from the car?

While I'm at it I guess I should look at the odometer gears too, eh?

Thanks,

Tom
