91+ AC wiring question for older 240 retrofit 200 1980

I am trying to transplant a 93' 240 AC system into my 80' 242, and have discovered there was a 12V connection from the AC switch to the ECU then directly to the compressor. See the red highlighted lines in the middle of the diagram below and the circled connection to the ECU.

Now, the way I read this, that connection has the ability to turn the compressor on without any input from the pressure switches in the system. This seems dangerous.

The other issue is that I don't have an ECU in my K-jet system to connect this to anyway. It looks like I can simply delete this portion and the system will still work through the pressure switch portion of the circuit.

Does anyone know what the ECU portion of the circuit does and why it seems to bypass the pressure switch activation of the compressor? Can I omit it?
