Water pump question 140-160

Hello,

During the mid 1980's, we experienced a failure of a water pump pulley flange on an original Volvo water pump.

The fan, pulley and flange came off as a unit from the water pump shaft and destroyed a recently replaced radiator core.

From then on, when a customer insisted on an original Volvo water pump, we put a couple of tack welds on the flange with our MIG welder.

Even though we never had a failure with a GMB water pump, we still will add a few tack welds when installed on a performance engine.
