B20F in my 544 444-544

I recently pulled a B20F out of a 1975 245 at the "junk yard", to put into my '62 544. My plan is to change all the bearings, seals, rings and replace the head gasket with the original thickness. I'm looking for more reliability, than performance at this point. The 245 had a 4sd M40. Is it worth going back for the transmission considering the output flange looks bigger than my 544 flange? Also, the flywheel ring gear has a 3 inch section where the teeth are chewed up. How hard would it be to swap ring gears or do later 240 series cars have the same flywheel as the the '75 model? I open to suggestions, thanks in advance.

Jeff,
