Proper ECT sensor test? 200 1993

Quite satisfied that I had identified what was wrong with my '93, bought and installed a new ECT sensor, only to experience no joy. Tested the wiring, the connector the sensor in the car, finally pulled it out and checked ohms resistance between the brass body and each pin and got infinite resistance at 75 degrees f. This appears to me that this new sensor is bad. Am I doing something wrong?
