A/C question 700

Thanks. While troubleshooting, put 12volts directly to compressor. The wire that runs in behind the pulley had broken off the field coil.
1. Can I remove the clutch and pulley to re-solder the wire? It appears so.
2. I assume I need a clutch holding tool? Probably yes
3. Do I remove the nut to get the clutch off? Yes
4. Does the pulley then just slide off?(read in FAQs some type of clip) Snap ring and probably a pulley puller.
5. Anyone know the clutch gap?

Did somemore searching. Believe I found these answers. And I hoping I can do this repair on the car without cracking any lines.

Any others tips appreciated.
