SU Carberator Compatabilty 444-544 1957

I just purchase a 1957 444 that I was getting ready for a customer to sell. Too many things need rebuilding. Distributor, Fuel Pump, King Pins, Floor pan, Etc. He decided to let me buy it for less the cost of repair. My question today is about a set of su carbs that came off a 1964 Volvo. Are these SU carbs too big for my 1957 444, or can they be re-jetted?. The manifold is also for the 64/Volvo and it has 4 intakes instead of the 2 on my 57/444 Volvo. I have a small Weber for it now with what looks like a intake manifold home built for a small base rectangular mount. I will already be re-building the distributor and vacuum advance with a home made ingenuity rubber diaphragm. Doing the same with the fuel pump. I will be looking for the correct manifold for the little 444/b16 engine. Damn car looks like a black VW beetle on steroids.
