Cranks but will not start 200 1980

Yes, a Bosch pump not holding up for longer than a year as most go for ten years or more. An unwritten warranty is a “record of accomplishment” in Bosch reliability makes the case for me, let alone the 200 bucks in cost. Hope you have receipts or the parts house manger knows you on a first name basis, as it will help.

As another suggestion, I would inspect the gas tank (low on fuel) for trash or dirt with a bright flashlight and replace the in-tank sock for good measure.

This turned out to have an interesting finale. You were saying it acted as running out of fuel, all a long. I said it was running lean from possible excess air without lifting the flap and low fuel volume to distribute to the injectors, which just so happens they only open with both pressure and volume to spray right.

I am amazed that this car is man made and it took many more to make a close diagnosis of it, but ultimately, it took a good head on the “family man” to fix it.

What a deal! I hope the kids take away something like, as in, to learn more from the old man.
Phil
