Car keeps stalling!! 900

Hi there,
I have a 1994 940 Turbo wagon. Last week I was getting on the freeway and the car died. I had it towed to my mechanic and he told me that it was the fuel pump relay. This is an item that I've changed before, so the one that was in the car was not that old. So, I changed the relay and today I was driving home and it kept dying on me again!! What are the chances that this new relay is defective? Or was he wrong and is the problem with something else? I really want to get this fixed right because both times I had my 16 month old son in the car and not only is stalling dangerous, but he gets very upset about it (smart kid). Any clues as to what the problem might be? I'm towing it to another shop tomorrow, but I would like to try and get some help from the experts here rather than be at the mercy of one guys opinion. Is there a way to check if a relay is bad (other than having it connected to a car that doesn't work)? Help please!!
