Possible purchase 1992 240 w/ 202k 200 1992

The owner says to make an offer, so I thought I'd give it a look at lunchtime.

Tranny does not downshift on hard acceleration, actually was in no man's land, revved but no transfer of power. Had to come to stop and the car would go fine after that. (I need to check tranny fluid and Kickdown cable adjust?)

Check engine light is on. From socket 6 it spit out 2-4-1 (EGR)
On socket two a wierd thing happened, it spit out;1-1-3, 2-1-2, 2-3-2 and then it did not repeat the sequence but spit out 2-3-1 and started to spit another code whereon I decided to revisit the car after work in the driveway of the owner with a jack and jackstands and more time.

I thought the OBD would only show three (3) codes at a time. Did I miss something?

Any words of wisdom as regards to EGR would be appreciated. I need to get into Bentley tonight.

Thanks, Miguel
