No blinkers and no dash lights in cluster 200

O.K....I'm getting down to the nitty gritty on this $250 91 240 sedan. I've got the engine and tranny running solid now on to the little stuff....only thing is the little stuff is awfully important if I plan to drive in town (which I do).

First off...no blinkers but hazards do work. I currently have the both rear tail light assembly's removed because I am replacing them....would that be the reason the blinkers don't work? I pulled the switch in the column and it appears good and I jumped the right and left wires to the neutral and still have nothing.

Second, I pulled the dash cluster to see if I could get the bulbs that light the main cluster up. The lights appeared good but I still need to test them. I also don't have either a working odometer or speedometer....this will bug me not having a spedo. Why would that be dead? Its all electronic in there...no cables at all.
If its run off a sensor on the differential can it be checked somehow?
