Looking at a 245, want some feedback 200 1986

First post, be gentle!

My wife and I are doing the Dave Ramsey plan and thus, need to replace her expensive car with a cheap, paid for car. I found a local 86 245 GL, 5 speed, with about 216K on it. Asking price is 2500 (too high), but if it checks out and I can get it for 2K, I think I would be happy with that. From the pictures I was sent, it looks to be in good shape (body, interior, engine bay). Of course, I have no idea what it drives like and what a first person inspection will bring. Owner says new clutch, clutch cable, alternator, battery, and new-ish tires.

I am trying to determine what engine it has, can you help? (Pictures at the bottom of this post)

I have browsed the FAQ and it looks to be a lot of information, very helpful for DIY'ers. My most pressing concern is electrical issues and the engine harness breaking down. Can anybody provide me with a place to look for additional information?

I appreciate any information you can pass along for me, thank you very much. This seems like a wonderful community, glad I stumbled across it!

Andy
