is type F atf best for m47 and is techron an effective product or a mouse milk? 200

hi sages- checked the oil level in my 92 240 m47 trans and it is low. runs and shifts very well . 220kmiles. no leaks. slight seepage at the fill plug. volvo book calls for atf type F . uncle moe says atf is ok but since it is thin oil leakage and seepage may be a problem. says if it leaks or seeps replace it with 75-90 weight gear oil which is what older (pre 70s) american cars used. what do you think. volvo books specify no other gear oil but the atf. what think you of chevron techron juice additive in the gas to clean the fuel injection system. doubt something that diluted in the gas tank would have any effect. moe says like most additives it is ineffective and enhances only dealer or parts store profits.thus the term mouse milk. moe was a top road mechanic with the red ball express and pattons tankers in the big one and spent the next 50 years as a chrysler mechanic. thanks tons oldduke
