97 960 strut replacement 900

Just got the timing belt and idlers done on the 960 today, and noticed that when I lowered the car to the ground the struts seem to creak and groan as weight was put back onto the wheels. I assume this mean I will be replacing the struts soon.
The struts on the car are the original ones, with 145,000km on them (85K miles?). The car is very clean, in terrific condition, not driven hard, and well maintained.
I replaced the struts in my '91 940Turbo last year, following the FAQs on this list. Is the procedure the same for the 960, or is the set up different in any way?
TIA
John D.
