eerily running generator 120-130

Hi everyone,

I had a question about my generator. Basically the pulley disc that the belt runs on completely ripped off the generator. All that is left are the stubs from where the pulley disc was attached. I don't know why this happened. In addition when
I went to inspect after I heard the ripping sound, the generator was running like a motor, meaning power was going to it somehow and it was moving furiously without the aid of the belt. In fact I had to disconnect the battery in order to stop the generator from turning. For some reason when I turned the ignition off and took the key out the amp light stayed on and the generator continued to spin.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Also, where might I get a pulley replacement from?
