Wiper arm removal? 1800 1971

lift up the wiper and look down the bottom of the arm at the pivot point... you'll see a small rectangular clip that is spring loaded and hooks under the edge the bottom of that cylinder. Pull on that clip about 1/8" before you start shredding things with your pry tools...

The nuts have nothing to do with it. That just holds the mechanism under the dash in place.

I think your mention of the top nut made James think it was a system like on a 240..
