Refrigerant 1991 240 DL High pitch sound?? 200

I'm going to be doing a change over to the 134a refrigerant.

I have read all I need too on the subject and there is a lot of great info here in the Brickboard.

However currently I have the R12 and it is low and the compressor is just cycling on and off. I can get the compressor to run continuous when jumped at the cycle switch. So I know the compressor is working.

The question is, what is the high pitched sounding whistle I hear just before the compressor cycles on? Is this because it is low on refrigerant? I never heard this before and only happens when I switch the A/C on.

Other than that I believe I am ready to do the change.
Thanks.
