J overdrive stuck on 140-160

Yesterday I was driving an engaged the OD on the level off power. Worked fine. Started on a grade and disengaged the OD but it stayed in OD. Even on downshift out of 4th. I pulled over and shutoff the car. Started it and pulled out. Still in OD based on the tach and speed readings.

Without backing up or using reverse knowing what that would do if engaged. I made it home and put it in the garage. With power to the OD switch I can not hear the solenoid click.

I have not pulled the solenoid as yet. Is it possible for the solenoid to stick on? If anything I hope its the solenoid. I had a spare but it tested bad. Is there anyway to know if the overdrive is engaged?

This is a '68 144 that I swapped in the M41 with J overdrive. I put in all new O-rings in the J before installing it. Fluid level is fine.
