no dash lights no start 200 1982

We have an 82 240DL, Chrysler ignition, 4 speed overdrive, recently had fuel pump issues but I don't believe it is related.
My son was on the way home from work when the car lost power, but no dash lights came on. We have checked fuses and looked for smoking or missing wiring, but none are readily apparent.
If someone has already solved this problem, I would be eternally grateful, as i am working days for the next two weeks and we will be in a bind getting the transportation arranged.
