Front crank/intermidiate shaft seal 200

I had a really nasty oil leak on the cam shaft seal on my '88 240, so I decided to replace it, the timing belt, the crank seal, and the intermediate shaft seal at the same time. My dad cam over to help me break the bolts loose on the cam/intermediate pulleys, and then stuck around to help install the seals. Well, we didn't know how far to seat the seals, so we put them in at about the half way point, maybe further. The old seals were nearly flush with the cavity, but I assumed that a clogged flame trap my have pushed them out that far. Also, it was evident that both had been leaking, so it was assumed they needed to go in further. I got it all back together and fired it up. After a short drive, I opened the hood to see oil coming out of every inch of the timing belt cover. Obviously, we failed. The cam shaft seal isn't leaking, but either of the other two, or both, are. So, how far did they need to go?

In the mean time, I'll start tearing it all apart again....
