Converting a PS rack to manual version.....Possible? 200 1986

Just a thought. My car presently has a power steering rack in it now. Is it possible to convert it to a manual version by just disconnecting the power steering pump or is it more complicated that that. I have a '69 Mustang with manual steering and it's not bad to drive. I could put up with it in the Brick if it were that easy and not having to replace the rack with a manual specific one. Thanks.
