Car Bogs down when gas is applied 200

Hello, I have a 1991 Volvo 240 wagon 5 speed. The problem is that when I am driving it does fine until I step on the gas hard. It just bogs down and occasionally jerks and bucks around. It will do fine if I lightly press the gas, it starts to spudder when it gets the max speed for that gear. I was wondering if this has anything to do with the constantly flashing shift light. The only code I am getting is 121 which is air mass meter, could a bad AMM cause this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Garrett
