Common cause of fuel leak near pump? 200 1984

Howdy all.

I replaced my 240's fuel filter today, after noticing some fuel had leaked from the pump. It looked like it might have come down between the feed line and main(Bosch) pump inlet.

What's the most common failure point for leaking at the pumps?
I'm in CA, so 0 rust. Also, I am happy to say that my prolonged missing on startup is gone after replacing the filter. Must have been pretty dirty.
