How many sets of 'clicks' in the throttle position sensor? 700 1992

Daughter's 92 745 has the 'check engine' light come on after I cleaned and adjusted the Throttle body. While I was setting the position of the TPS sensor, I noticed that it had a weak 'click-click' at the opening movement BUT a stronger 'click-click' when I moved the black sensor toward the full open throttle position. Is this normal? Did I adjust it wrong?
The car has a Regina system. Could I replace the throttle body and switch with a Bosch system one, or do I have to use the French made switch only?
Thanks for any help.
