Skandix Fuel Tank 1974 164E 140-160 1974

hello,

has anyone bought a skandix fuel tank from 1974. that is how it is listed on their site. meaning 1974 - 1975. product # 1016926. volvo tanks (2 versions) when available were based on chassis numbers but are no longer produced. my original would have been based on the later one.
does the skandix tank have the same supply pipe setup as the original with the filter at the bottom of the tank with port for cleaning on the bottom of the tank? and a baffle inside the tank? i bought a spectra premium VL1A. the form factor is the same. it has a port on the bottom of the tank for emptying the tank. it did not have the supply pipe internally with filter. it did not have a port for cleaning the filter on the bottom of the tank. it did not have a baffle. i had a radiator shop weld a threaded port and installed a bung and sintered filter outside the tank before the main filter.
i have fuel starvation issues if tank is less than half full when making left hand turns because there is no baffle. i was going to put a second port on the right hand side of the tank bottom and join the two lines into a tee in order to feed the filters and pump and stop the starvation issue since one line would always have fuel available. i don't want to shorten the life span of the pump due to cavatation either.
anyone done this? comments? or, if the skandix tank is the same as my original tank i might go that route.
also, my pump is somewhat noisy. all the time. not loud like it is starved due to a dead in-tank pump like my 240 wagon did. my sending unit does not have an in-tank pump anyway. but just wondering if they are all that loud. doesn't bother me but i thought i would get your input. i bought the pump brand new volvo part and it was that way from the first time i ran it. what about everyone else?

thanks
