Thinking about a hitch 200 1981

The kit came with a cable that connected to the fuse panel and engine compartment junction box. Why Volvo went all the way up front I don't know. It has been a great unit and I have used it to pull 8' uhauls to move several times. I also pulled a small car across town once. The only thing I did different from the instructions was to leave the muffler heat shield in place. The issue was the rear mounting screws interfered with the hitch. I found that the heat shield mounting tabs could simply be bent inward and re-attached.

I've never had to install anything extra such as heavy springs or shocks and none were recommended in the instructions.
