I think maybe the answer will be found from the 240 folks as some of them were equipped with both overdrive and 3.31 differentials.
I converted the 69 164 to Overdrive from M400 while I lived in Panama. It was quite a deal getting an M410 tranny shipped through the APO!
Kent Thompson converted the 72 164 from BW35 to M410 up in South Dakota several years ago before he gave the car to me.
You're absolutely right though, the answer is NOT in the 164 books!
Still waiting to hear if PBX in SJ got my booster.
