Emission test...too easy 200 1990

I was expecting the worst and hoping for the best when I took my 1990 240 DL in for emissions testing in Northwest Indiana. With our ODBII cars it is nothing more than a formality but with an older car.

The car is not the smoothest running nor does it get the best gas mileage of any RWD Volvo I've had. I did preemptively clean the TB and IAC because they needed it anyway. The plugs, cap and rotor were relatively new. I did warm it up with a brisk drive.

I was no where near the limits which makes me wonder of the limits in Indiana are unusually high. Here are the results:

HC 1.40 Limit, tested 0.25
CO 20.0 Limit, tested 0.80
NOx 3.00 Limit, tested .045

This just seems too good to be true. Granted the car has a reasonably believable 115K miles on it but still.

Thought?
