Console Vacuum Leak 200 1977

I have a vacuum leak somewhere in my center console area, and somewhere in or after the climate control unit/vent control unit, or whatever the three push button unit is called.

I'm looking for advice in locating the leak without having to tear everything apart.

Anyone use a smoke source (incense stick or something along those lines)?

Finally, anyone ever replace the switching unit itself? Mine has two busted buttons on it. I smacked one while doing an auto-to-manual tranny swap and busted the other in a failed attempt to get the busted one back on. Argh!
