Oil change- white sediment in new oil 900

I had several one quart containers of oil in the crawl space of my house. They were stored there and forgotten for about ten years unopened. Yesterday I decided to change my oil and as I poured from one container I noticed that the last ounce of 'oil' looked white. So maybe there were a couple of tablespoons of white matter at the bottom of the oil container. Anyway, it went into my engine. What was that stuff? Now what?
