78 245, blower motor

Just picked up this 78 245 for my son to learn to drive on. My only automatic!
The blower motor and the radio do not work. Fuse is fine, horn on same fuse works. Pulled out the center console to start tracing wires and the switch for the blower motor has a short white wire with a female plug (lack of a better name, sorry) that does not seem to have anything "stray" around it. Whoever put the radio in, lopped of the original connector and seems to have chopped into the red wire going to the fuel pump relay. Yellow wire from fuse #2 is going to the radio and I believe the blower motor. I see the wiring for the blower motor going into the top behind the vent. Do I need to dismantle this beast to trace down to blower motor? Could it (please!) be the switch? What should be connected to the white wire at the switch? Car starts and runs fine, but can't get inspected in PA w/o a blower motor. I know very little about wiring and have been lucky thus far to just use common sense to solve these issues. Thanks, Andrea
