78 245, blower motor

Thanks Alana,
Actually, I have replaced a blower motor in my 92' 240 (may she RIP.. older son spun and hit a pole, total destruction, but kept him safe!) The 78' seems to have a different switch than the 92, and a lot less stuff! behind the console. I just don't know much about wiring, as in, should I run a wire from the fuse box to a wire for the blower motor to test it? Which wire does what? Fear burning something up. Tried to read the wiring diagram in the Haynes manual but I am approaching 50 and cannot see that @#%^^# anymore :)doesn't seem to really nail it down anyway. Need a shop manual I guess??
Thanks
