traditional oil pan gasket vs Volvo Anaerobic Chemical Gasket Sealer?

Hi,

Seems like I am always gathering parts for upcoming projects for the Volvo. This time it is the oil sender seal. I don't think the previous owner got it installed quite right and now I am getting the oil light at idle. Anyway If I get into this job I figure I will have to replace the oil pan gasket since I have to remove it among other things to get at the oil sender seal. At the IPD website I have the choice of the traditional oil pan gasket or this stuff called Volvo Anaerobic Chemical Gasket Sealer? Seems like you just put it on in place of the gasket. Does this work better/worse than a regular gasket. Its more money but then it also looks like I can use it for more applications as well.
