940 Yazaki speedo repair follow up 900 2001

In early 2010 my Yazaki speedo odometer stopped working and I received lots of good advice from the good folk on this forum. I replaced the capacitors as recommnded but the odometer still did not work and was put to one side. I've just got the thing out again, cleaned up the pins on the ICs (contaminated with capacitor leakage) and lo and behold it works again!! However there is a snag - the odometer (trip and main) both now run backwards............... Have I made some obvious blunder here with the capacitor replacement? Any further advice most welcome please. I have to say I am still very pleased to see those numbers going around again, even if in the wrong direction!

many thanks
