Falling oil pressure 120-130

Fresh motor. New bearings, gaskets, seals, pistons, rings, etc. New oil pump. Oil pressure is around 40psi on startup (mechanical pressure gauge). Falls to around 20psi at 2000rpm when warm and shows maybe 5-10psi at idle. Seems very low to me. Afraid to drive it, don't want to damage the VERY $$$$ motor. Why would the pressure be so low? I just dropped the front suspension, and removed the pan to check that the seals on the tube from the pump were still in place. Suggestions?

Thanks!
