No sense in guessing, could be a number of things.
get a OBDII diagnostic code reader and find out what it says. If you don't have one, or access to one, most auto parts like AutoZone will pull the codes for you for free. Note not all codes will come up on the available readers except Volvo, so if that doesn't pan out, go to a dealer and have them pull the codes.

BTW your car is Front Wheel Drive, and this is RWD section, re-post in the FWD and get more responses.
