Need advise on my engine 700

Hi,

I have a 1988 740 turbo wagon with b230ft engine, manual transmission. I pulled the spark plugs after maybe 10,000 miles to see what they look like and plug #'s 4 and 1 were whiter in color and #'s 2 and 3 have normal wear appearance. Just wondering what this means.

My engine does misfire while downshifting once in a while, but not to often. Also, only once in a blue moon, it will miss at higher than normal rpm and boost.

I did have some problems when I changed my timing belt, but after reinstalling it the engine runs great, great performance, and 22mpg city 28mpg highway.

Any ideas are appreciated (or if anyone has had similar different looking spark plugs like mine)

Thanks,

Benton
