Removing button/handle from small clock 200 1984

OK, so let's say I have this small VDO clock that works fine but the button/handle has fallen off and disappeared, and this other clock with a handle, but which doesn't work.

I did not try to pull as I do not want to break anything, but does anyone know if that handle can be easily removed to swap on to the other clock without dismantling everything?
