740/940 instrument cluster question 700 1992

All,
Been living with the dried out or leaking capaciter problems of the Yazaki cluster for a while now and following the posts of people attempting the fix with very mixed results. Just happened across a 92 940 turbo cluster at the PnP that is also Yazaki and I'm wondering if I can swap the 940 one into my 740 turbo and have everything work - including the gas gauge. The Faq says the 93-94 are different than the 91-92's but I am not really sure the car is a 92. The plate says "date of manufacture 1992" so could it be a 93? Also I am wondering if it's even worth the $27 they want when it could potentially have the same cap problem. Opinions? Coincidentally the mileage on the 940 cluster has about the exact mileage on the odomenter as my 740.
