Gas Smell At Rear Near Fill

My 940 had a persistent raw gas smell near the left rear wheel. I checked everything: filler gasket OK, the rubber boot between the fill tube and the sender unit OK, fuel lines and filter OK, nothing. I jacked up the car, looked up from the rear axle and discovered two things. First, a fuel hose clamp had rusted and broken in half. Second, the equalizer vacuum hose had come unfixed from the tube leading up to the top of the system near the fill door. A hose had split, causing the gap. I used a couple of pieces of 4.2 and 6.4mm vacuum hose along with some small vacuum fittings to reattach everything. Mission accomplished.
