Power window 700

Hi,

I have the 1988 740 turbo wagon with power windows. All power windows work but the front passenger side, neither drivers or passengers side switch will roll the window down. Luckily the window is fully up.

With key to II position I get 12 volts at pin #4 of the front passengers side window switch connector. Then with key in II position I get around 2.6 volts, at pin #5, when pressing the switch in one direction (cant remember which) and the other direction gets 0 volts. This is some test out of my manual or maybe the faq.

Also, while using either driver or passenger switch I can hear the window motor actuate while pressing the switch in the direction to roll the window up. When I press down no sound is heard from the motor.

Anyone have an idea of what the problem could be? Or any additional tests to find the culprit. I have a/c so I'm in no hurry .

Any help is always appreciated,

Benton
