Dumb question about points 140-160

Look at the points--spread them open and see if there's a build up of metal or rough surface on one or the other halves. Having the correct dwell angle is fine--a good way to set the points--but it's the condition of the points that will determine if they should be changed. The old Renaults I used to work on could go 40-50k miles--most of my points & condensor Volvos 12-15k. -- Dave
