A/C accumulator 200 1993

In the on-going saga of trying to get my A/C back up and running, today I received the last (long backordered) A/C hose I need to replace, as well as a new aftermarket accumulator.

I already replaced the accumulator a month or two ago, when I replaced the low side hose from the accumulator to the compressor. I was planning to have a friend charge my A/C, but then decided to do it myself, and it took maybe a week to get the R134a adapters for my old gauges. I pulled vacuum on the system (though it seems my pump is a bit weak) and it did not seem to leak down at all over a few hours.

After that, I discovered a gash in the hose running from the compressor to the condenser (the one that runs under the air box). Even if this hose was not responsible for last year's spontaneous evacuation, I decided to replace it before charging. It has taken about three weeks to get the hose, since it was listed as backordered indefinitely until a few days ago (even though a guy at the local dealership called a warehouse in LA who said they had some stock).

I decided to buy another accumulator, just in case, since it is a relatively cheap part. The one I received the first time was a URO brand, and was dimensionally identical to the OE part I removed. The accumulator I received this time is labeled ACM Germany, and has an extra Schrader-type fitting, opposite the one I need (see photo below).

Is this extra fitting going to be a problem? Should I even bother replacing the accumulator? I am not especially A/C savvy, so any advice is appreciated.

Thanks!
Sean
