tachometer installed- just sharing 200 1989

Just thought I'd mention and share this; our '89 wagon has the big clock, and speedo of course, on the cluster. I had thought at times that even tho the brick has an A/T, it'd be nice to have a tach. (I usually think of a tach installed when you have a stick shift.)

Well, my "shade tree" mechanic, Dave, found one, the small one, out of a Volvo, even has "Volvo" on the face of it; so he wired it up, had the correct "cover with the hole in it" just for the tach, and installed it in the 'blank' area just right and up a bit sort of but not quite, behind the steering wheel. Works great and I like the way it looks and works and I can see the RPMs easily. Looks like a factory install.
