rear brake noise - like blowing over a bottle 200 1993

Hello All,
Was living with that distinctive sound in the last 20 or 30 feet of braking like blowing over the top of a bottle. Definitely not a squeal - much lower. About a month ago I attacked the front brakes, assuming it was from there, wirebrushed everything, made sure all pistons are moving freely and lubed up all moving parts and there was no change in this somewhat intermittent noise. Tried a second time and changed brands of pads with no effect. After a couple of weeks of ponder it occured to me it might be the rear and so I got a different brand pad (with the stick on anti-squeal shim) gave them the same treatment and it worked!! But only for a couple of weeks and now the noise is back. Anybody ever have this and does anybody have any ideas for me?
thanks,
Robb
