Transmission Shifting 900 1995

1995 940 Non Turbo Wagon
Auto with overdrive
197,000 miles

Just acquired my Svedish Brik a couple days ago and I'm starting to love it. Although, I have one question for those who have owned before me. I'm concerned that I may have a transmission problem. My shift points between gears are around 3700-4000RPM, regardless of acceleration rate, which makes for some rough shifts at times. I know that Chrysler had a tranny in the late 80's which would learn the pattern of the driver and adjust accordingly. Does Volvo have anything like this, anyone have any ideas on how I can readjust this to a smoother transition point, or am I looking at some major problems?

Thanks!
