ANSWER motor mount replacement? 444-544 1964

Hello,

The motor mounts can be changed without removing the engine.

Before starting to remove the motor mount mounting nuts, we remove the bolts from the radiator so there will be less stress on the radiator necks.

Remove the nuts and washers from the motor mount studs and then lift one side of the engine at a time to change each motor mount.

In my younger days, I could reach across the fender and pull the engine towards myself which will lift the opposite side of the engine up high enough for an assistant to change the motor mount.

Otherwise use a floor jack and properly placed piece of wood to lift each side of the engine.
