Correct oil for your M47 II Manual Transmission. Volvo PN 1161645

A post regarding the proper oil for your M47 II transmission fluid from vvpete, turbobricks and brickboard member:

vvpete indicates the correct fluid for that Volvo M47 II transmission is Volvo part number 1161645.

A search on brickboard reveals NOTHING. The incomplete 700-900 FAQ contains no answer (http://www.brickboard.com/FAQ/700-900/TransmissionManual.htm).

In all fairness, my 1990, 1991, and 1992 Volvo 240 owner manuals state "Type F" for the M47 II. I think the Volvo OEM 240 green service manual also specifies Ford "Type F".

I'm letting you know as "1161645" appears no where in the pathetic, yet feeble, brickboard search.

Use this fluid, and no other, in your M47 II five speed manual transmission.

I'll be researching the turbobricks more often from now on.
